Brisbane is emerging as one of the most popular locations for Britons seeking to move away from the irritating Brexit situation, particularly for high-income investors seeking a safe haven given the political uncertainty.

According to Realestate.com.au chief economist Nerida Conisbee, Queensland was the most in demand state with the Brisbane suburbs of New Farm, Redcliffe and North Lakes accounting for the most searched locations.

Real estate experts have noted the combination of lifestyle, good weather and proximity to the CBD as key factors drawing the attention.

Additionally, a recent report from the research group New World Wealth pointed out that the UK’s high inheritance taxes were pushing Britons to look overseas in countries such as Australia to migrate to, particularly for high net worth individuals (HNWI).

Australia is currently the most attractive country in the world to HNWIs with a net inflow of 10,000 people in 2017, the investment potential that these individuals bring by virtue of migrating is enormous and certainly beneficial for the property market.
